1. Who We Are

Noise Log ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application developed and operated by GBApps (Bundle ID: com.gbapps.vitaway). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information stored locally on your device

The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• Audio recordings of noise incidents
• Noise level measurements (dB values) with timestamps
• GPS coordinates attached to incidents (only if you grant location permission)
• Incident notes and descriptions you enter manually
• Generated PDF reports and CSV exports
• App settings, including noise threshold levels and calibration data

2.2 Information collected by RevenueCat (subscription management)

We use RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

• A randomly generated anonymous user ID (no name or email)
• Subscription status and purchase history (processed via Google Play)
• Device type and operating system version (for compatibility)
• Country/region (for pricing and subscription management)

RevenueCat does not receive your recordings, measurements, or complaint documents. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

2.3 Information we do NOT collect

• Your name, email address, or any account information
• The content of your audio recordings (never uploaded)
• Contacts, call logs, or messages
• Browsing history or data from other apps
• Precise location data beyond what you explicitly attach to an incident

3. Permissions We Request

RECORD_AUDIO

Why: To measure ambient noise levels and record audio evidence of incidents. What we do with it: Recordings are saved locally on your device only. Never uploaded.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE

Why: To allow background noise monitoring while the app is minimized or the screen is off. Required for automatic incident detection. What we do with it: Runs a local monitoring service. No data is sent externally.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)

Why: To alert you when noise exceeds your set threshold. What we do with it: Local notifications only. No data is sent externally.

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION

Why: To optionally attach GPS coordinates to noise incidents for your PDF reports. What we do with it: Stored locally with the incident record. Never transmitted. You can use the app without granting this permission.

WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Why: To save PDF reports and CSV files to your device storage so you can share them. What we do with it: Files are written to your device only.

INTERNET

Why: Required for RevenueCat subscription verification only. No other data is transmitted over the internet.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide noise measurement and documentation functionality
• To generate PDF reports and complaint letter templates on your device
• To verify your subscription status via RevenueCat
• To send local push notifications about noise threshold exceeded events

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party except as described below:

• RevenueCat: Subscription management only. See Section 2.2.
• Google Play: Payment processing for subscriptions. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or a valid legal process.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

All data stored on your device remains under your control. You can delete it at any time by:

• Deleting individual incidents within the app
• Clearing app data via Android Settings → Apps → Noise Log → Clear Data
• Uninstalling the application (all local data is deleted)

RevenueCat subscription data is retained as required for financial record-keeping. To request deletion of RevenueCat data, contact us at support@gbapps.com.

7. Children's Privacy

Noise Log is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. International Users

Noise Log is available globally. Since all data is stored locally on your device, it remains subject to the laws of the country where your device is located. RevenueCat processes subscription data in the United States.

9. Your Rights (GDPR and applicable law)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access — know what data we hold about you
• Deletion — request deletion of your data
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Objection — object to processing of your data
• Correction — correct inaccurate personal data

Since we collect minimal data, most of these rights apply to RevenueCat subscription data only. Contact us at support@gbapps.com for any requests.

10. Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and protected by your device's security mechanisms (PIN, biometrics, encryption). We do not have access to your locally stored data. We use secure HTTPS connections for all external communications (RevenueCat API).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via an in-app notification or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
